5.1 Speaker System with Surround Sound Receiver
A 5.1 home theater system bundle INCLUDES a pair of larger floor standing tower speakers or smaller bookshelf speakers for front left and right channels which should be located at both sides of your television, ultra short throw projector, or projection screen; a center channel speaker primarily for dialogue which should be placed underneath the television or projector screen; another pair of speakers for the rear surround effects which should be placed to each side of, or slightly behind, your seating area; a powered subwoofer to provide the lowest frequency bass which usually sounds best located somewhere near a corner; and a compatible surround sound receiver.
Unless stated otherwise, you should assume that you’ll need to separately supply or buy adequate speaker wire to run from the backside of the surround sound receiver to each of the five speaker locations, perhaps also some compatible banana plugs to terminate the wiring at each end, and a subwoofer cable to run from the back of the receiver to the location of your sub.
